Market times & dates
The Pako Farmers Market operates on the 2nd Saturday of most months (except in deep winter!) at West Park, on Pakington Street, Geelong West.
Shopping starts at 9am and closes at 1pm.
Our dates for the 2019/20 Season are: October 12th, November 9th, December 14th, January 11th, February 8th, March 14th and April 11th.
The market is located close to plenty of transport options.
We are very bike friendly and just a stone's throw from Pakington Street.
If you're catching a train, Geelong's main station (Railway Terrace) is a nice 10 minute walk away.
Buses run along Pakington Street too, with the West Park stop literally at the market!
If you're driving, Pakington Street has timed free parking, and there's more parking right across the road in other public carparks (also free).
Pako Farmers Market is wheelchair accessible with stalls located on hard surfaces so you won't get bogged.
Public toilets are located at the Neighbourhood House in West Park.
At this time, we don't have an on-site ATM facility, however there are several ATMs along Pakington Street to the north of the market (Commonwealth, NAB, Westpac and others).
The market is not under cover so if the weather looks dodgy, pack your raincoat!
We're developing our members program to encourage more people to support our regional food economy by making the market a really special place to shop.
For now, if you support us by buying one of our must-have calico Pako Farmers Market bags at the market, we'll add you to our members list. You'll receive special notices and news of new stallholders via email.
You'll also get the warm and slightly superior feeling that comes from knowing you're part of the community that's making a difference to the health and economy of our region.
The Pako Farmers Market is a community market, managed by the Barwon Fair Food Network, a non-profit incorporated association.
We are in the process of applying for accreditation with the Victorian Farmers Markets Association. Every stallholder at our market is the actual farmer, grower or maker of the food you're buying, or is a direct employee. Once we confirm our acceditation (fingers crossed!) we will join the ranks of the other VFMA-accredited markets in our region - the South Geelong Farmers Market and the Golden Plains Farmers Market. We encourage you to shop at those markets as well!
